Baltimore’s public works department is getting in on a new social network.
DPW will post alerts on Nextdoor, the neighborhood-level social network. Baltimore citizens on Nextdoor will get updates on projects, changes to garbage and recycling schedules and other info, according to the city.
According to DPW, about 180 Baltimore neighborhoods are on Nextdoor.
“I want DPW to be focused on great customer service, including delivering clear, timely information about our projects,” DPW Director Rudy Chow said in a press release. “Nextdoor will help us to achieve this goal.”
The city of Philadelphia has been using Nextdoor as a communications platform since late last year.
