SevOne to add nearly 200 Delaware jobs [Startup Roundup]

WHO’S GETTING BUZZ

Network infrastructure monitoring company SevOne, has grown substantially since its beginnings 10 years ago. The Delaware company, which boasts nearly 400 employees worldwide, plans to hire an additional 200 employees, mostly in Delaware. Delaware STEM reports that the company is looking for engineers, software developers and pre- and post-sales support staff. The new hires will work from the University of Delaware’s 50,000-square foot Science, Technology and Advanced Research (STAR) campus. A statement from the governor’s office puts the new jobs figure at 150.
The Washington Post recently named Delaware as the state with the fastest internet connections in the country, also noting the First State is among the fastest areas in the world for browsing the web.

DeliveryCircle, a startup we previously featured here, was recently profiled by the News Journal. “DeliveryCircle’s ability to meet the delivery needs of merchants and consumers has resulted in rapid growth for the small business that first launched in February 2014. The company initially offered its services in eight zip codes, mostly in New Castle County. Since then, it has expanded to five cities and more than 200 ZIP codes.”

Delaware’s TechHire — an initiative that will train residents for IT jobs across the state — was recently recognized by the Obama administration, which launched an effort to connect Americans to good-paying technology jobs. According to a press release from Gov. Jack Markell — who introduced TechHire in his recent State of the State address — the program will help rethink the state’s approach to workforce training.

According to an SEC filing, CloudLaw Inc. raised $150,000 on March 10. According to Bloomberg Business, the New Castle company operates ZeekBeek.com, an internet-based legal marketplace that offers educational, networking and marketing opportunities to consumers and lawyers.
