The Project Liberty Digital Incubator announced its third and final class yesterday.

The three participating startups include A View from My Seat, a photo sharing app and site founded in 2010 by a South Philly art director, TuvaLabs, an edtech startup and recent GoodCompany Group graduate and tapCLIQ, a mobile advertising platform that participated in the previous class of the incubator.

Backed by The Knight Foundation, the incubator is located in the Market East headquarters of the Philadelphia Inquirer, Philadelphia Daily News and philly.com. Additional partners of the program include Benjamin Franklin Technology Partners, DreamIt Ventures and Drexel University.

It’s not clear how the incubator will be affected by the recent news out of Interstate General Media (IGM), the company that owns the Daily News, the Inquirer and philly.com. IGM threatened to “liquidate” the newspapers and their website if contract agreements with the company’s 11 unions weren’t reached by this Friday, the Daily News reported.

As for the previous cycle’s participants (Rumble, Zaahah, tapCLIQ), some have entered into partnerships with the city’s newspapers. News app Rumble partnered with the Daily News to power its app. IGM partnered with tapCLIQ, according to the Project Liberty press release, where IGM VP of Digital Products Steve Alessi is quoted as saying he is very pleased with tapCLIQ.
