When NBA forward LeBron James told Sports Illustrated last week he was “coming home,” many ecstatic Cleveland Cavaliers fans launched a full-court press to see more on LeBron.com.
The problem? That led them to a search page topped with the LinkedIn resume of Baltimore entrepreneur Patrick Nagle, the Baltimore Business Journal reports.
Nagle, founder of sites including RateMyProfessors.com, bought the domain in 2008 and, like the hundreds of others he owns, he has it redirect to his LinkedIn profile.
At James’ agent’s request, he has forwarded the domain to James’ real site, but has no plans to sell the address, he told the BBJ.
One thing’s clear: James would be good for the money. The Cavs are set to pay him more than $20.6 million next season.
