Today, the Maryland Tech Council (MTC) is hosting the final day of its Maryland Life Sciences Bio Innovation Conference.
A mix of presentations, panels and networking events, the conference is intended to connect various aspects of life sciences in Maryland in a mix of virtual and IRL sessions. With the event, conference organizers hope to bridge gaps between local researchers, business leaders, academics, venture capitalists and startups in the community. The event was also designed to provide networking opportunities and access to government agencies and commercial industries.
The conference was presented by Maryland Life Sciences, a division of the MTC that acts as a regional association for the state’s life sciences community. The entities hope the conference can help bolster the future of Maryland’s thriving life sciences sector.
Coming up next this afternoon are closing sessions from Brad Stewart of the Montgomery County Economic Development Corporation; Sally Allain of JLABS; and Matt Schwee and Lila Inman of Cooley. Earlier this morning, Catalyte’s Jacob Hsu delivered a session on tech workforce readiness. On Monday, MTC CEO Marty Rosendale updated the state’s $5 million BioHub Maryland workforce initiative. But don’t worry if you missed any sessions: According to a spokesperson, videos from the livestreams of these and other sessions will be available in the days following the conference.
