Former Millennial Media CFO Michael Avon joins ABS Capital

Avon is now a venture partner at the Baltimore-based investment firm.

Former Millennial Media CFO Michael Avon was named Venture Parter at ABS Capital, the investment firm focusing on later-stage companies announced.
Avon served as CFO at Millennial from 2009-2014, helping to lead the company’s IPO in 2012. Since leaving, he has been investing in companies. Avon also founded ICX Ventures, a software company that helps people monetize digital content. Before Millennial Media, Avon led investments at Columbia Capital, and helped to launch three startups.
Now, he’ll join ABS Capital’s East Pratt Street office, focusing on investments in growth-stage software and digital media companies. The firm has 23 employees, nine of whom are investment partners.
“Not only has Mike reached great business milestones as an operator, he has also built a dependable business network of growth-oriented executives,” said ABS Capital Managing General Partner John Stobo. “We look forward to his help at ABS and we know the management teams we work with will too.”
