Our regular look at Philly’s tech job market is back and, in honor of Fintech Month, we’re leading things off with mobile banking company Moven.
Last September, the NYC-based company — currently at around 60 employees, most of whom are based out of Radnor — snagged Mark Constan as its head of recruiting. Constan previously wore the same hat over at Radnor neighbors eMoney Advisor.
Why the move? Though Constan has nothing but nice things to say about eMoney, he said coming to a smaller organization meant having a bigger footprint, as he helped the firm fulfill a big hiring push. “For me it was about, ‘Where can I go and get things accomplished?'” said Constan. “This was the best place for me to affect that change.”
And Constan is setting off on a quest to help the firm staff some 20 open positions, including full-stack engineers, devops engineers, a chief data architect, business analysts and a tech lead for their engineering squad. More about the open slots here, but you can also email Constan directly at mark@moven.com.

We loved this line from the job description: “Nice to have: knowledgeable about resources available to entrepreneurs, founders, and tech scene enthusiasts, both in Philadelphia and beyond.” Read more about the gig here, and hit up Program Director Yuval Yarden at yuval@phillystartupleaders.org.

Look, we know it’s a shameless plug, but it would frankly be irresponsible to leave out the fact that Technical.ly is hosting the very first iteration of NET/WORK Suburbs this Thursday in Radnor, Pa. Over 17 hiring tech companies will be at our jobs fair: from Chariot Solutions to our gracious hosts, eMoney Advisor.

When news broke of RJMetrics’ acquisition by West Coast analytics company Magento, CEO Mark Lavelle said the Philly office would become a sort of beachhead for further East Coast growth. This sentiment was echoed by Head of Analytics Bob Moore a couple of weeks ago when Commerce Director Harold Epps paid the company a visit.
Although the ones currently posted aren’t specifically tech jobs, it would be wise to keep an eye on the company’s jobs board, which now features Philadelphia as a searchable location.
