One of the main goals of Philly Tech Week 2016 presented by Comcast is to give everyone the opportunity to participate in the evolution of Philadelphia’s local technology community.
So of course, for the fourth year in a row, we are supporting other mission-minded community groups that are putting on meaningful events during the week with modest microgrants to help them succeed. (We announced a call for applications back in February.)
Today we’re proud to announce this year’s five#PTW16 microgrant recipients, and a few plans for what they’re using the funding for.
They are:
1. EvoXLabs: The Accessible World Conference
- Braille print of the conference proceedings
2. Hive76: Arcade @ Dilworth and three of their own events
3. #techInColor: Success Hacks: Paving Your Own Way in Tech
- American Sign Language interpreters for the event
4. The ITEM: Connecting the Dots: Matching your skills to a career in tech
5. Coded by Kids: Strengthening your voice in a STEM industry
- Community outreach coordination
Make sure to browse through their events and the other 100+ scheduled for the week while you’re building out your personalized schedule on the Philly Tech Week calendar.
