The University of Maryland, College Park, will expand its efforts to push students toward entrepreneurship at the inaugural startup career and internship fair Nov. 9.
So far, 45 startup companies from the Baltimore and Washington, D.C., areas have registered for the fair.
Attendees can RSVP here for the UMD startup career and internship fair, located in the Grand Ballroom of the Stamp Student Union. Companies can register for the fair here.
“Given the connection that the University of Maryland, Mtech, and the Dingman Center already have with the startup community, we want to start exposing our students to those lesser known businesses,” said Elana Fine, managing director for the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship at UMD, to InTheCapital. ”It will probably take a few years for it to get real traction among students, but as the job market changes the risk profile of students needs to change also. They need to be more open to small businesses and startups.”
