Ron Schmelzer’s TechBreakfast is headed south in September.
At the most recent Baltimore TechBreakfast last week, Schmezler announced, along with Dov Markovitz, Adam Zuckerman and Frank Taylor, cofounders of entrepreneurial community Foster.ly, that the inaugural D.C. TechBreakfast will take place September 20.
“I’ve been wanting to link up … and foster the entrepreneurial community across a broader region,” he says. Schmezler, the Roland Park resident and Bizelo founder, first announced plans to take his popular, monthly meetup to Columbia, Md., and Washington, D.C., at June’s TechBreakfast.
Foster.ly, a for-profit initiative launched in January with the goal of bringing together entrepreneurs from Maryland, D.C. and Virginia through events and Study Hall coworking days, is allowing Schmelzer use of its directory of entrepreneurs in the region to help publicize the event.
“We need to not have islands among entrepreneurs,” Schmelzer says.
Right now, the DLA Piper office in D.C. is the location of the September 20 TechBreakfast, but the location might change depending on how many RSVPs he nabs for the event, says Schmelzer.
