Out of Catonsville-based Mindgrub Technologies’ month-old gaming division comes Rescue Jump, a mobile phone game where users control a duo of trampoline-wielding firemen in a quest to save as many people leaping from burning buildings.

The game itself is based on Nintendo’s Fire video game, part of the company’s Game and Watch series that became popular in the early 1980s and “is the origin of mobile gaming,” according to a Mindgrub press release.
“It was great to ‘re-imagine’ this classic for smartphones, because it opened up possibilities for tilt controls, plus we have added new features such as power-ups the game didn’t have before,” said Alex Hachey, creative lead in Mindgrub’s gaming division, in the release.
Mindgrub Technologies, which has grown from 10 to 50 employees in the last year, presented Rescue Jump, its ADDY award-winning mobile assassination game TAG and Discovery Kids mobile game Scuba Adventures at August’s Baltimore TechBreakfast. Scuba Adventures was the first mobile game to be released by Mindgrub’s new gaming division.
