Uber is expanding service to six additional Maryland cities, the transportation company announced on Tuesday.
Aberdeen is the closest city to Baltimore. In western Maryland, Uber will be available in Frederick, Hagerstown and Cumberland. In southern Maryland, you can use the app to grab a ride in Waldorf and in Easton.
Uber is already available in Baltimore, Annapolis and Ocean City.
Uber has been expanding since a new state regulatory framwork governing ridesharing companies passed the legislature in dramatic fashion earlier this year. The regulations, which officially went into effect on Oct. 1, created a new category for app-based ride companies called Transportation Network Services.
