Check out Staq’s new office

The adtech startup is on the fourth floor of what's quickly becoming one of Baltimore's hottest tech hubs.

Power Plant Live! is starting to take shape as a downtown tech hub.
DreamIt Health Baltimore moved in to space on the 3rd floor of 8 Market Place earlier this year in time to begin the second year of its accelerator program. One floor up, office space for tech companies is also starting to get put to use.
Around quitting time on Friday, friends and family of Staq wound past food trucks and a band soundchecking on Power Plant’s outdoor stage and headed up to the fourth floor of the building, where the founders of the adtech startup cut the ribbon on their new offices.

Staq’s James Curran and Mike Subelsky handed over the giant scissors to Greg Cangialosi, who first introduced the two cofounders in 2012. It was a short stroll over for the CEO of MissionTix, whose offices are just a couple buildings down.
Also on hand was Benjamin Wu, the deputy secretary of the state’s Department of Business and Economic Development. Wu presented Staq with a lucite trophy to mark their win in the IT division of this year’s InvestMaryland challenge, and credited the employees and supporters gathered for their hard work.

“This is all hard work that you’ve done and will continue to do,” Wu said. “It shows the commitment and confidence that the state has in the future of Staq.”
A total of seven employees will work out of the new office, which, like the rest of the building, was renovated and leased by the Cordish Companies. Down the hall, DreamIt Health Baltimore grads Tissue Analytics and Avhana Health also have office space. In addition to DreamIt Health Baltimore, the building is also set to house Spark, a coworking space that the Cordish Company is currently developing. Subelsky said the additional spaces and amenities they will bring (like a fitness room) made the space more appealing.
