who’s getting funded?

Gliknik, based in the University of Maryland BioPark, has raised $2.8 million in equity, according to SEC filings. The biopharmaceuticals company creates “new therapies for patients with cancer and immune disorders.”
Mount Vernon based investment firm Spring Capital raised a new $35 million fund, according to an SEC filing.

who’s making moves?

Mindgrub Technologies is ranked number 520 on the Inc. 500|5000, an annual list of the fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. According to a press release, Mindgrub is the “42nd fastest-growing software company in the nation, 23rd of Maryland companies, and 9th in the Baltimore metro area.” The Catonsville-based company is known mainly for making mobile apps and games.
The Tech Council of Maryland has named Philip Schiff its new CEO, according to a press release. Schiff comes from the American Association of Blood Banks. The Tech Council of Maryland is the state’s “largest trade association for bioscience and technology companies employing more than 200,000 in the region.”
