Light Point Security named a top 10 ‘innovative security’ company

Cybersecurity company Light Point Security is a finalist for the "most innovative company" honor to be bestowed at this year's RSA Conference taking place in San Francisco beginning Feb. 25.

Cybersecurity company Light Point Security is a finalist for the “most innovative company” honor to be bestowed at this year’s RSA Conference taking place in San Francisco beginning Feb. 25.
Along with nine other finalists, Light Point Security will present during the conference’s Innovation Sandbox event.

Based out of UMBC’s Research and Technology Park, Light Point sells a cloud-based malware plugin for Mozilla Firefox. With Light Point Web installed, Internet users can access websites that run off a virtual machine monitored by Light Point, meaning that websites with potential security holes are prevented from accessing your computer and implanting harmful malware.
Light Point Security is also one of 71 companies to advance to the second round of the InvestMaryland Challenge.
