Nearly six months since the Trump administration settled into DC, layoffs throughout the federal government continue to force the region’s workers to ask difficult questions about their futures. Luckily, there’s programming to pivot to a different career.

Coding bootcamps can offer a way for people to gain skills in different technologies related to AI, web development and other necessary fields. Typically, these programs offer a cheaper alternative to pursuing a college degree (though many of them come with a price tag in the thousands).

Some of these programs have shut down in the DMV and generally are not as popular as they used to be, but there are still bootcamps running throughout the area.

Learning opportunities often come with a price tag, but some of these are free. Youth, even kids as young as 5 years old, can take part in tech training programs, too. Keep scrolling to see what’s available, and to see if there’s a match for your needs.
