A strong quarter of startup fundraising in Brooklyn, with $43 million raised

goTenna and Voodoo Manufacturing led the pack, with $7.5 million and $6.7 million, respectively. The median raise was $1.1 million.

Five companies each raised more than $5 million in Brooklyn in the second quarter of 2017, which saw 17 companies raise more than $43 million in total.

Leading companies were goTenna, with $7.5 million, Voodoo Manufacturing, with $6.7 million, AzurRX BioPharma, with $6 million, Propel, with $5.2 million and Remezcla, with $5 million.

The total for the quarter is higher than the first quarter of 2017, when companies raised $34 million. This quarter’s results are lower than the fourth quarter of 2016, when companies raised $67 million. Technical.ly did not keep data before that quarter.

Two of the highest raising companies were on our 2017 realLIST ranking of top Brooklyn startups: Voodoo Manufacturing, which came in at No. 2 and Propel, which was at No. 8.
