Who’s getting money? 

Security Scorecard raised $900,531 in a Series A equity round, according to an SEC filing. No other information appears to be available about the company online, other than the names of its cofounders: Sam Kassoumeh and Aleksandr Yampolskiy. They list their titles there both as “Director” and “Promoter” and “Executive Promoter,” respectively. Both appear to be alumnae of Gilt. Yampolinsky blogs about startups and security extensively. There’s less online about Kassumeh, other than this poem on the Gilt Tech Tumblr about the Payment Card Industry.

Fly Cleaners raises a $2 million seed round from Zelkova Ventures and undisclosed angel investors, according to TechCrunch. Fly Cleaners is only available in North Brooklyn now, and its founders told the site that they are aiming to impress customers with every level of service. Its app is available on Android and iOS.

PlayAR, the Augmented Reality creation program, successfully funded its Kickstarter, raising $32,689 toward its $30,000 goal. We covered their initial launch.

Who’s making moves?

Pensa Labs has already released a hack for making its 2D wire bending platform 3D, for certain shapes. They also want to know where the community would like to see them host another workshop on the device.

Headliner FM has released a new feature enabling users to promote posts on platforms beyond Twitter. Technically Brooklyn has an experiment running on the site now and will write up our experience with Twitter promotion soon.

Who’s getting buzz? 

Donnel Baird is getting very early stage coverage for BlocPower, on Forbes, his new company aimed to help mid-size and small operations get energy audits and install weatherization and solar power retrofits, with work done by low-income locals getting trained for new careers in the green collar economy. BlocPower will relocate to new Brooklyn NY-ACRE next year.
