The NYU Game Center is graduating its first class of MFA students, and they presented many of those students’ game creations at “The Game Center Student Show” in Metrotech Center in Downtown Brooklyn Thursday.
As the photos below make clear, art shows of video games are different than old fashioned art shows in that you can actually interact with the creations. That is, you are very much encouraged to sit down and play the game. Games were out in all kinds of formats. On tablets. On PCs. Projected onto the walls. Several of the games shown were analog games.

There was also a curated selection of games from other game making classes throughout the department. Here are some photos of attendees interacting with a few of the games on display.
“Lie to the Devil,” an AI that wants to hurt you. By Jonathan Zungre.
“Landing” by Maria J. St. Martin. Player vs. player, aliens making crop circles vs. Area 51 agents. Very distinctive graphics.
“Social Me” by Franziska Zeiner. From the Artist’s Statement: “The goal of social_me was to create a surreal, socio-political game that mimics players and their social media habits in a way that makes them reflect upon them.”
“Zero Mark,” multiple creators. a three-on-three shooter, the only game Technically Brooklyn played. We didn’t contribute a lot to our team. Shooters of various scopes were popular at the show. Download here.
“Uroboros,” by Aniket Das, Yurun Chen and Kushal Kadaba. A one button jumping game where players have to negotiate increasingly complicated rings.
