Plant-based cosmetics company wins Make It In Brooklyn pitch contest

Mullein & Sparrow won the Make It In Brooklyn pitch contest last week at WeWork Dumbo.
The Bushwick-based cosmetics company sells natural and vegan hair and skin products, beating out fellow Brooklyn faves Oddfellows Ice Cream Co., Apotheke, Cargo Bike Collective Fabrication and Liddabit Sweets.
“We are so excited (& still in disbelief) to announce that we won the Make it in Brooklyn Pitch Contest last night! A big thank you to everyone who came out to Dumbo last night to support Brooklyn makers,” the company said in a Facebook post. “We are so honored to be recognized in this amazing community.”

For winning, Mullein and Sparrow receive $5,000, a free month of workspace at WeWork, a free Zipcar for Business membership and a consultation with one of the competition’s judges, Kickstarter’s Terry Romero.
