NYC Resistor is becoming the place for interesting lights and light creations.
Following up on the epic Octoscroller, the Dumbo makerspace has unveiled the Megascroller on their blog. The Megascroller is for side-scrolling video games and it requires the player to physically move around the circular screen, following his or her character, rather than letting the landscape scroll by as it would on a television or computer. It’s a creation of Trammell Hudson.
You can see video of Mario Bros. gameplay on the Megascroller here — and if you want to build one yourself, here’s the source code on Github.
The screen ratio seems a little off, and at one point in the video the player says something about a delay, but if you made it out to the Interactive Show this weekend, those issues may have since been resolved.
