Gimlet Media has been on a run recently, hiring everyone it can find, signing a long lease for a swanky Downtown Brooklyn office and, as of today, raising a boatload of money.
The Series B round was led by Stripes Group and brings Gimlet’s total fundraising to $22 million.
In its announcement Gimlet said it would be focusing on developing new content and expanding the ways the make money, including into “feature films, TV, literature, and more.” The company said that the company’s “first podcast, StartUp, is being adapted by ABC into a single-camera sitcom, Alex, Inc. premiering in 2018, starring Zach Braff.” Wow.

Another podcast with a good story is the company’s latest addition, The Pitch, which Gimlet acquired after the show’s Florida-based creator, Josh Muccio, sent a cold email to Gimlet’s cofounders.
