One of the good things about living in Brooklyn is the opportunity to go to something like this. Next Saturday, an experimental sound organization is hosting a show at what sound like an artists’ apartment in Bushwick. It promises to be a night out of the ordinary.

Mixed Signals will host its third show, “Surround Sound” Sept. 9, featuring artists Dave Rife, Gabe Liberti, Margaret Schedel and more. The venue has a 40-channel audio system, from which will emit more sounds than anyone is used to.

“Sound reaches us like warm water from the tap, flowing on all sides, lifting us up, buoyant on its metered undulations,” the event’s page reads. “We are not so much surrounded as we are bathed in sound, immersed in sound, bouncing like a cork on a glassy surface etched with diverse timbres and molded by rhythm.”

Mixed Signals is the work of Seth Kranzler and Sam Tarakajian, both of whom are doing interesting work in the space where technology and art overlap (both have participated in the Stupid Hackathon.)

Tickets are $20 and the show starts at 8 p.m.
