For the first time since its inception eight years ago, Cupid’s Cup will be open to student entrepreneurs across the country.
The annual business competition, put on by the Dingman Center for Entrepreneurship at the University of Maryland, College Park, is “open to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at accredited U.S. colleges and universities who are running companies that have generated at least $5,000 in revenue or are a legal business entity with proof of traction,” according to a press release.

It was Under Armour founder and CEO Kevin Plank who partnered with the Dingman Center eight years ago to launch the Cupid’s Cup competition. Student-run companies may start applying Nov. 5. What’s at stake?

  • $70,000 in cash prizes
  • Coaching from successful entrepreneurs
  • In-kind services from leading edge companies
  • The Cupid’s Cup itself

And this year, Plank “will grant the 2013 grand prize winner exclusive access to a member of his professional network,” according to the press release.

Companies: Under Armour / University of Maryland, College Park
