Upcycle Fest at Prospect Park // Open House at NY Media Center [Events]

A civic event in the park, an open house and a lecture.

Here are this week’s picks for the best tech events in Brooklyn!

  • Monday, October 28, 8am – 2pm. Upcycle Fest in Prospect Park. Bring old electronics. Get rid of them for free. Feel confident that they are getting put to better use and also raise money for the parks.
  • Wednesday, October 30, 6:30pm. Open House at the Made In NY Media Center. Think you might need a coworking space in Dumbo? Just want to see the cool new facilities (including the 360 deg projection screen)? RSVP.
  • Friday, November 1, 8:30am. DUMBO Tech Breakfast at DUMBO Kitchen. This is a chance to simply meet other technologists working in the area. No particular program. Just a chance to meet people. Let other attendees know to look for you.
  • Monday, November 4th, 4PM.  Judea Pearl will deliver the 15th Annual Lynford Lecture on the campus of the Polytechnic Institute of New York University (NYU-Poly). The Association for Computing Machinery gave him an A.M. Turing Award for his work on causation, the subject on which he will speak. The event is free but registration is required.
