Organizing monthly TechBreakfasts (in Baltimore, Columbia and Washington, D.C.) is not the only thing Ron Schmelzer does. Schmelzer is also the founder and CEO of Bizelo, a software development company that produces apps for small business, which he founded in 2010.
In October, Bizelo is releasing “two new applications designed to help retailers and other small business owners manage their inventory, sales, exchanges and returns,” according to Bmore Media.

Schmelzer says his goal is to release 34 apps by the end of 2012, and each app costs about $30 a month.

Bizelo’s electronic retail supply management application, one of the two new products, is intended to help small business owners buy products online from their vendors. Its return management system, the other new product, helps small businesses with the return/exchange process by generating return labels, keeping track of returns/exchanges and which items are most often sent back. [more]

Schmelzer is also seeking $750,000 in seed funding this fall, and he’s going about it in an unorthodox way: crowdfunding. Bizelo is based in Roland Park near Johns Hopkins.
