Archana Kumar just joined the team of experience-discounter Gilt City as a front end engineer, according to the Gilt Tech Blog. Kumar also happens to be one of the co-creators behind one of the more popular webcomics out: Hipster Hitler.
What’s the best way to quantify how popular the comic is in the subculture? There are approximately 40,000 webcomics online, by some estimates, and Hipster Hitler is one of only 14 to receive the delicious honor of being banned by the r/webcomics subreddit for being “too awesome.” In other words, the moderators of that web forum want other webcomics to be seen and discussed there, so they don’t let the very best and most popular get posted.
While sadly Kumar had to decamp from Brooklyn for Queens in the last year, according to an email to Technically Brooklyn, her webcomic was born and inspired by her time in Williamsburg. She completed her part of the work on the Hipster Hitler book from Carroll Gardens.
