The online-based global ‘hacktivist’ community called Anonymous has set its sights on the city’s Redevelopment Authority for allegedly pursuing legal action against a Southwest Philadelphia developer for cleaning up a trash-strewn lot without permission.
We think. Watch the video below.
In a video posted on the group’s Youtube channel, a single speaker, adorn with that familiar Guy Fawkes mask, robe and backed by familiar creepy music, calls for its members to seek action from the city’s Redevelopment Authority and freshman Councilman Kenyatta Johnson. (Other city officials have blasted the threatened legal action.)
The lot is owned by the RDA and it says the cleanup was a clear act of trespassing. And the developer in question is OCF Realty founder Ori Feibush, who was the man secretly publishing NakedPhilly until he was, well, unmasked. Feibush owns the coffee shop next to the lot and owns properties in a slew of fast developing parts of the city.
As with anything, the case isn’t as clear as one might want it to be, but, if nothing else, it seems this is a silly PR move by the city.
