Philadelphia Neighborhoods

Philadelphia Neighborhoods is a publication of Temple University’s Multimedia Urban Reporting Lab and is the final capstone course for the university’s journalism students. Students participate in all aspects of news production, creating text, broadcast, web and digital media. Student journalists select a neighborhood to cover for the semester to uncover hyperlocal news in the community. The publication aims to tell better, more diverse stories about the communities underserved by news media. Philadelphia Neighborhoods was a partner of Technical.ly. Students worked with Technical.ly Philly to learn more about Philadelphia’s technology community and offer coverage on previously less covered but important topics, like digital divides and civic action through technology.
