WeWorkInPhilly: use this map to visualize the region’s broad tech community

It’s the next step in tech community resource WeWorkInPhilly.com — now the more than 300 companies that have self-identified on the directory can be mapped by broad category, like accelerators, startups and businesses.

The map was a joint effort across the local tech community, according to a Philly Startup Leaders press release, and was a followup to a stakeholder meeting held last summer. PSL co-founder Chris Cera led the development of the map, which was built on the WWIP framework that was setup locally by Indy Hall co-founder Alex Hillman and developer Linus Graybill.

The idea was to create a resource that is “owned by none and supported by all,” Philly Startup Leaders president Bob Moul said in the release. The map already features more than 300 startups, coworking spaces, investors and more, so if you haven’t done so yet, get yourself on it.

The number of companies, community members and projects listed on WeWorkInPhilly.com has roughly doubled since it was founded in the summer of 2011.
