Believe it or not, taxis and Uber are coming together. All it took was one illuminated weekend, and for the taxis to be floating.
UberBOAT is appearing in the Uber app for Baltimore this weekend, allowing users to request four seats on a water taxi. Stops are at Harbor East and the Science Center, setting up prime views of the lights. The service is being offered from 7-11 p.m. through the end of Light City on Sunday.
Under Armour and Sagamore Ventures are sponsoring the partnership, making the rides free.
Could we see more water taxi action? Early Port Covington plans show new stops, so perhaps boatsharing could figure in. UberBOAT is also live in Istanbul, and was used in Miami during Art Basel.
