This software engineer loves DIY projects

JPMorgan Chase software developer Veronica Crowe uses Pinterest as her source of inspiration. It's this month's edition of Off the Clock.

Tech culture can be so focused on work and efficiencies that it makes us forget everything else. Off the Clock is a series where we interview people in the tech scene but don’t ask any questions about work.

Software engineer Veronica Crowe, 25, will celebrate her one-year anniversary at JPMorgan Chase on Aug. 1. While she loves being a woman who codes and working on tech projects, her passion is DIY projects.
“I spend a lot of time working on Do It Yourself projects, whether its installing flooring in my home or creating keepsake items,” the Wilmington resident explained during an interview with Technical.ly. “Ever since I was a little girl, my mother used to always be creating things and working on crafting projects. I definitely get it from her.”
Crowe also shared some of the other ways she likes to blow off steam after a busy day at work, along with one of her favorite dessert recipes.

###

Are you working on any side projects right now (tech or otherwise)?
I’m not currently working on any tech projects although there is a project that I will hopefully start working on with some coworkers in the near future.
What are you currently reading?
Two by Two by Nicholas Sparks.
What’s your fave website to kill time on?
I could spend hours on Pinterest. I have so many projects that I want to work on but there’s never enough time!
What’s a recent movie you’ve seen and what’d you think?
I took my two nephews and niece to see Despicable Me 3. I thought the movie was very cute. Sequels are usually very hit or miss, but this sequel was great and had a interesting plot!
What song do you have on repeat?
“If I Told You” by Darius Rucker.
Where’s the last place you went on vacation?
I went to Myrtle Beach, S.C., for a country music festival in June. However, at the end of the year I am going to visit my twin sister in Australia! I’m very excited for this trip as I have never been out of the country!
Do you cook? What’s your specialty? Share the recipe.
I enjoy cooking but I prefer baking! I made an Oreo cheesecake that was to die for (found it on Pinterest, go figure). Here’s the recipe.

Companies: JPMorgan Chase & Co.
