Six tech startup founders got the opportunity to pitch to an audience and a panel of judges at the conclusion of this year’s Startup Week DC. The final event took place Friday, Sept. 28 at the National Union Building. The participating companies were:

TwentyTables conquered the competition to take first place. The tech company curates an app that connects customers with cheap meal options and donates to surrounding charities in return.

“Recognition at this level by the D.C. tech community not only helps validate the hard work and relationships built by the TwentyTables team, but actually helps spread word of our mission to end hunger in all its forms to the broader D.C. community,” TwentyTables founder and CEO Alex Cohen told Technical.ly DC. “And that alone makes the win worthwhile.”

Cohen said a portion of the winning funds will go to the company’s charity partners.

In addition to the other prizes, TwentyTables was awarded with a $2,000 cash prize, $3,000 in Google Cloud credits, $1,000 in GSP consulting services, $1,000 in Metamer production video services, a $500 Silver Strategy PR consultation and an Amazon Echo.

Knonap took second place and was awarded an additional $500 cash prize.

All six companies received a complimentary two-month membership for two people at coworking space Alley DC and $500 in consulting services from GSP Financial. The pitch challenge was judged by Deloris Wilson, head of strategy and operations at BEACON DC; Alexander E. Knight, business development lead at Cooley LLP; and Candice Charlton, business development manager at Amazon Web Services.
