These 3 Delaware startups get to ‘Swim with the Sharks’ Sept. 28

The Emerging Enterprise Center pitch competition returns, with $16,000 in prizes on the line.

A fueling company, an edtech platform and a nanotech startup are the three finalist in this year’s Swim with the Sharks pitch competition, hosted by the Emerging Enterprise Center (EEC), in partnership with NCC Innovates.

The finalists will pitch their businesses at a luncheon at the Grand Opera House Sept. 28, competing for more than $16,000 in cash and services.

Twelve applicants submitted a business plan and a preliminary pitch, with the top three as selected by a panel of judges moving on to the finals.

The three finalists are:

  • D150 Fueling, a business for companies with commercial fleets that offers on-site fueling, along with connected FuelCloud software. (Co-winner of Hen Hatch 2018.)
  • SAS Nanotechnologies, developer of proprietary, patent-pending anticorrosive coating technology. (Recipient of an NSF SBIR grant.)
  • SmartKidzClub, an edtech platform that creates mobile educational content  for children ages 1–11.

The other nine of the 12 applicants will showcase at the event, including:

  • Craft Beverage Services
  • Culture Crush
  • Elev8 My Life
  • Mail Express Services
  • Mamaste Doula & Birth Services
  • My MedChoices
  • Vegan Healthy
