Blackout: Reinventing Black Media in the Digital Age with FCC Commissioner Mignon Clyburn: Hear from local black media leaders about how their market is changing and how they’re adjusting in light of the digital divide. Switch Philly 4: Edtech: See what’s brewing in the local edtech community. At this annual competition, five edtech projects will battle it out for a prize package to take their product to the next level. There will be Yards beer in the house. Philly Give & Get Charity Auction: Bid on a local entrepreneur or technologist in this mix charity date auction, skill-share and networking event. Proceeds support the Philadelphia Center for Art and Technology. 7:00 p.m. — 10:00 p.m. National Mechanics, 22 South Third Street, Old City. RSVP. $10 suggested donation.
Philly Tech Week Signature Event presented by AT&T and hosted by URBN + Official After party: Join the entire tech community (think: entrepreneurs, educators, government officials and more) at our biggest event. It’s a cocktail party and local technology expo all in one, so come ready to play with cool locally-built tech toys. Admission includes an open bar. Then head to the official after party! Signature Event: Friday, 6:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m Urban Outfitters Headquarters, 5000 S. Broad St., Building 543, Navy Yard. Afterparty: 10:00 p.m. The Philadelphia Art Alliance, 251 S. 18th Street.
