WHOโ€™S GETTING MONEY?

Lanham, Md.-based Optoro, which helpsย retailers to resell their unsold inventory online, raised $50 million in equityย โ€”ย its biggest round ever. Previously, in July 2013,ย the companyย raised $23.5 million, according to an SEC filing.ย This month’sย Series C round was led by Silicon Valley investorย Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byersย and complemented by return investors includingย Revolution Growth and Grotech Ventures.
TrackMaven announcedย it raised $14 million in Series B financing led by New Enterprise Associates, which is set to include $9 million in equity, according to an SEC filing.
Reston-based Canvas,ย a business mobile app provider, raised $9 million and is hiring accordingly. The expansion is “across the board in dev, sales, marketing, etc.,” said director of marketing Jason Peck in an email.” We’re aiming to grow from about 50 folks now to 90-100 this time next year.”
Reston-based Wealthminder, aย financial advising platform, raised $256,000 in shares for aย prospective $1 million round, according to an SEC filing.
Networking website GiftedHire raised $250,000 in a prospective $825,000 Series A round, according to an SEC filing.
Lanham-based Framebridge raisedย $3.75 million in investments led by Revolution Ventures and New Enterprise Associates Seed.
Shaw-based FlyClique, which aims toย open up moreย tech opportunities toย people of color, received aย $45,000 loan, according to an SEC filing.
