PHL Collective partnered with the Philadelphia Game Lab on Knight Strike. It’s seen more than 80,000 downloads across all three platforms since the April release, said PHL Collective head Nick Madonna. Knight Strike is both free and ad-free, but PHL Collective is using the data it gathered from the first release to build an upgraded version of the game for the Nintendo WiiU that’ll be sold for $10. It’ll also eventually build an expanded version of the game for mobile and other consoles, he said.

When asked about the revenue model, Madonna said: “As we build brand confidence it’s imperative we clearly communicate our understanding of the relationship between game content and value. We want to give our fans a fun and solid experience for a set price without ‘nickel-and-diming’ them at every turn.”

The studio is also working on a new game that it debuted at Friday’s Split Screen Philly two-player video game event.

The game studio is leaving its digs at Center City coworking space Benjamin’s Desk for a spot on the eighth floor of the nearby String Theory School building at 16th and Vine.

(Madonna also wanted to note that the PHL Collective website is currently under construction.)
