For American early stage technology communities, the lure of a densely successful Israel innovation market attracts many. And Philadelphia is part of that.

Local angel investment group Keiretsu Forum MidAtlantic said it was going to hold quarterly meetings focused exclusively on Israeli companies. DreamIt Ventures launched DreamIt Israel.

Most recently, the Philadelphia-Israel Chamber of Commerce and Greenberg Traurig LLP hosted the 9th Annual Israel Conference: Global Mobile and More, with pitches from 10 Israeli startups with focuses that spanned “jukeboxes, consumer buying behavior tracking, sports fans loyalty, parking payments, advertising, insurance, handwriting, newspapers and websites,” said Debbie Buchwald, executive director of the Philadelphia-Israel Chamber of Commerce.

Here’s Buchwald’s recap of the event:

In 8 minute pitching sessions, the companies showed how their products increased the bottom line and deserved the attention of participating investors, partners and customers.

During the opening venture panel moderated by David Gitlin, Esq., investor Wayne Kimmel of Artists & Instigators underscored the importance of the relationship between investor and entrepreneur. Richard Fox of Cross Atlantic Capital Partners encouraged the companies to do their homework and approach ventures whose goals matched theirs.

Participants also heard from industry leaders representing Motorola Mobility, SAP, Comcast and Alcatel Lucent who talked about how to approach large companies and the challenges of working in large corporate environments.
