Northern Virginia’s ID.me plans to hire 1,000 new employees as it eyes major growth

The hiring push comes as the company is experiencing a growth period due to the pandemic and consumers shifting more of their activities online, from shopping to banking to healthcare.

Federally accredited online identity verifier ID.me plans to hire more than 1,000 new employees in the Northern Virginia area by the end of 2021.

The big hiring push comes as the company is experiencing a major growth period because of the pandemic and consumers shifting more of their activities online, from shopping to banking to healthcare. ID.me has hired more than 300 employees this year and opened up two new offices in Tysons, Virginia.

“We have an audacious mission. We aim to fix the identity layer of the internet with a trusted and portable login that customers can use to access everything from government benefits to ecommerce sites,” said ID.me founder and CEO Blake Hall in a statement. “We are looking for candidates that are not only passionate about technology but are motivated to help make billions of people’s lives better with more trust and convenience online.”

ID.me has recently launched partnerships with government entities in across California, Pennsylvania, Arizona and Nevada to fight fraud, and the company reports that more than 1 million first responders in the U.S. have registered on its platform to use its group verification technology.

The company is specifically looking to expand its engineering, customer support, and sales and marketing departments. As of this writing, ID.me has more than 40 open positions listed on its site, including openings for a data engineer, director of ecommerce marketing, VP of engineering and chief information security officer.

Though the company’s two new offices are currently closed to majority of its workforce, essential workers are still coming into the office when needed. The offices are equipped with lounge areas and a game room, and ID.me offers its employees options to invest in stocks, with a benefits package that includes unlimited paid time off and three months of leave for new parents.
