A dozen early-stage Philly companies have been participating in Philly Startup Leaders’ accelerator program since the end of last year, honing their pitches and getting advice from some very real entrepreneurs.
On April 23, you can go hear what they’ve been working on at the accelerator’s Pitch Night, a graduation of sorts for the 12-week program.
Arke Aeronautics, Cotton Wars, Health Genie, Hopskip, Leadovate, MILES, NOMO Fomo, NuMoola, Swirl, Trust and Go, Vetd and WEach Seats will deliver their pitches onstage at Punch Line Philly — yes, a comedy club, much like last year’s pitch-off at Helium club.
“At PSL Pitch Night, potential consumers, investors and supporters will hear directly from these passionate founders who will pitch their companies and share what they need to succeed,” said the nonprofit’s executive director, Kiera Smalls, in an email. “Current and future founders are also encouraged to attend to support this year’s cohort and potentially get the opportunity to share their pitches with the crowd as well.”
Smalls said the program — which first took place in 2014 — looks to equip early-stage founders with the “knowledge and network needed to achieve long-term success.”
Typically, the program takes on half a dozen startups, but this year the accelerator cohort doubled, thanks to sponsorship from AT&T.
