Check out this #PTW17 collaborative storybook by creative agency Grue & Bleen

When tech scenesters take to creative storytelling, things can get pretty weird.

For us at Technical.ly, Philly Tech Week 2017 presented by Comcast was a pretty magical time.

Lucky for us, creative agency Grue & Bleen was also enchanted. Caught up in the spirit of it all, the young company took the time to build a collaborative fairy tale story book titled “Once Upon a Time at Philly Tech Week.”

Eighty-five participants from 40 local tech companies contributed random thoughts and drawings to create over 100 pretty wacky scenes. The story involves a red-headed adventurer, some Philly-based mutant turtles, a hubbub over audio cassettes and … the DMV? (This reporter’s favorite quote: “It’s turtle time!”)

“Sometimes, people think that if you’re running a business, you have to act serious or stop having fun,” said Grue & Bleen CEO Josh Silverbauer, who leads the five-person team. “It was so cool watching all these Philly businesses, plunging into their creative roots and having a great time drawing and using their imagination.”

The creative agency, based out of Benjamin’s Desk’s 601 Walnut location (like Technically Media), also accompanied this reporter through the Innovation Crawl, documenting the experience for an upcoming video. We’ll keep you posted.
