For the last year, Philly sports fans have had to bring their enthusiasm and watch parties to their living rooms while games happen without in-person attendance.
But venture-backed delivery company goPuff announced this week it is partnering with the Philadelphia 76ers to bring some of that in-person game experience to wherever fans plan to watch. Each game day, goPuff will offer local customers a curated 76ers menu featuring stadium and local favorites, like Federal Pretzels, Side Project Jerky, Chanks Pizza Cones, Founders Brewing and Yards.
During game nights, goPuff will also offer fans prizes and local deals. The launch begins Wednesday, with an offer for new, local customers to receive $25 off their first order with code 76ERS for tonight’s home game against the Houston Rockets. goPuff is also waiving the delivery fee on all Philadelphia-area orders on Wednesday to celebrate the matchup.
“With the pandemic changing the way fans experience home games, goPuff has the unique ability to deliver many of the products that fans have come to love right to their home, in just a few minutes,” said Katie O’Reilly, 76ers chief revenue officer, in a statement. “We’re excited to bring fans this special 76ers menu and look forward to future collaborations with goPuff that will enhance the fan experience throughout the season.”
In the coming weeks, goPuff will also be launching a limited edition “celebrate the city” souvenir cup series, and sales will be donated to the Sixers Youth Foundation to help young people develop into the “next generation of innovators and leaders.”
This announcement comes two months after goPuff — based at 3rd and Spring Garden streets, with fulfillment warehouses around the country — began selling COVID-19 tests from New York City’s Purlab on its app.
In non-snack news, goPuff is also reportedly considering an acquisition of U.K.-based Y Combinator graduate Fancy Delivery. TechCrunch reported the news on Monday. goPuff also acquired California alcoholic beverage retailer BevMo! in November.
