Birds fans are in for a visual treat: Tonight’s Fox Sports broadcast will feature super-crisp 4K HDR (high dynamic range) resolution for the first time ever in an NFL game.
The games will be broadcast in ultra high definition (UHD) every Thursday night of the season, plus some postseason games.
To watch, viewers can log on to the Fox Sports app and can livestream to their device via Apple TV and Roku devices. Select Fox Sports distributors will also feature 4K broadcast, including DIRECTV, Comcast Xfinity and Verizon Fios.
“We continue to expand our UHD offerings, serving both a growing section of our audience and our distribution partners,” said Michael Davies, Fox Sport’s SVP of field and technical operations, in a press release. “The NFL offers our largest audiences, so being able to deliver games in UHD, while at the same time continuing to serve the entire FOX Sports audience with the best possible production value, emphasizes our goal of bringing fans as close as possible to the sports they love.”
Let’s hope that crystal-clear view will show Nelson Agholor catching some babies — er, balls.
