DuckDuckGo was specifically interested in Girl Develop It’s Summer of Open Source Fellowship, a program piloted in Philadelphia that pairs women with mentors to work on open source projects over the course of a summer. That fellowship will expand to other cities, in partnership with Code for America, this summer, Warnshuis said.
The Paoli-based search engine was specifically interested in Girl Develop It’s mission to increase the number of women who contribute to open source projects.
