DataTribe, the Fulton-based startup studio that seeks to develop cyber and data science startups, recently backed a pair of companies.
The investments followed a competition called the DataTribe Challenge, which out nationwide to seek out the “next big thing” earlier this year.
DataTribe looks to work with entrepreneurs on “over-the-horizon” technology, and located in Maryland to be close to the national labs and agencies in the area. Along with funding, the startup studio provides resources to help build a company.
Here’s info on the two companies which received backing:
- Prevailion makes a platform to help organizations detect data that is compromised within a network or supply chain, and predict when a breach will occur. The Fulton-based company raised $1.7 million in seed funding from DataTribe. Founder Karim Hijazi previously founded data leak intelligence firm Unveillance, which was acquired by Mandiant/FireEye, and software firm Quantomic. The team includes former NSAers.
