Greenbelt-based Cybrary, a company that provides massive open online courses (MOOCs) on IT and cybersecurity, is opening certain classes for free to the general public.
According to a press release Tuesday, more than 3,500 students from different countries have already signed up for Cybrary classes.
“Providing free online education eliminates financial barriers, allowing anyone to learn from and engage with the IT community,” said Cybrary cofounder Ryan Corey in the statement.
“We’re confident our approach will ultimately reshape IT and cyber security training, welcome new minds into the profession, and lead to a brighter future for the industry as a whole,” he added.
Cybrary offers courses on in-demand certifications like A+, Network+ and CCNA, and more advanced skills like Microsoft’s MCSA, CISSP and Advanced Penetration Testing.
