According to the report, released Tuesday, Google’s tools helped provide $222 billion of economic activity for more than 1 million businesses, website publishers and nonprofits across the country in 2016. In Delaware, Google’s search and advertising tools contributed to $632 million of economic activity. Additionally, nonprofit organizations in the state were given $1.18 million in free advertising, thanks to the Google Ads Grant program.
Calvert Retail uses Google’s search and advertising tools to attract customers, keep guests up-to-date on their stores’ information and track the success of their online campaigns.
“Google is very user-friendly,” Graves said in the report. “We can jump in and do things without a big learning curve. That’s a huge relief for a small business.”
Calvert Retail, founded in 1999, currently has eight stores and 300 employees.
