Amazon is launching a Career Day event in six U.S. cities, including Arlington, Virginia.
The ecommere giant announced that the first-ever event will take place on Sept. 17 in Arlington. The company will have similar events in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Nashville and Seattle. Amazon’s Career Day invites anyone interested in a chance to learn more about how to land one of the 30,000 full and part-time jobs it has listed.
Candidates of all experience, skill and educational level are invited to register for the upcoming event.
Register“Amazon has created more than 300,000 new jobs in the U.S. over the last decade – and we’re proud to continue investing and creating opportunities for people across the country,” Jeff Bezos, Amazon’s founder and CEO, said in a press release. “These are jobs with highly competitive compensation and full-benefits from day one, as well as training opportunities to gain new skills in high-demand fields such as robotics and machine learning.”
This is an instrumental event for the region, as Amazon gears up to bring its second headquarters to Northern Virginia. With this move, Amazon is promising to bring 25,000 employees to the area over the next 12 years. Currently, the ecommerce giant has 723 job openings in the D.C. area across various departments including software development, IT, HR, marketing and more. Amazon even has a work from home category, with 739 openings listed, for interested remote workers.
There will be Amazon recruiters on deck at Career Day, as well as fireside chats, resume tips and more. The day kicks off at 11:30 a.m. at The Grounds, located at 1102 S Eads St in Arlington.
