Given the creativity that often factors into innovation and the tech skills that are often required to create art, it’s apparent that art and tech are closely related.
Especially with the continued development of new technology, the relationship continues to evolve. So it’s worth taking some time to explore what products are being produced, and new approaches to combining the two disciplines.
An event organized by Women in Technology on Wednesday, June 28, offers that chance. The STEM + Art Forum is set to begin at 6 p.m. at the Arlington Tech eXchange.

The event features a panel exploring the relationship between design and tech with a trio of speakers working at that intersection:
- Kristin Bouw, CEO of Notion Theory, a digital agency that opened a VR arcade.
- Creative strategist and designer Lilia LaGesse
- Daphne Puerto, UX Designer at Excela Consulting
The event also features breakout sessions exploring imagery and creative thinking. A third session on creative thinking features a VR experience.
