Mark of the Old Ones' protagonist Thomas Lyle had his leg mangled in a plane crash and suddenly grows tentacles.

If Mark of the Old Ones gets funded, you’ll be able to swing by protagonist Thomas Lyle‘s tentacles through the world of Namaset, a city “from the dawn of humanity.”

A video game being developed by Devon-based game company Hit the Sticks, Mark of the Old Ones is inspired by horror author H.P. Lovecraft. It’s trying to raise $225,000 by Nov. 5.

The company launched the Kickstarter, its first, in order to gauge interest in the game, founder Jordan Brock said. But, the campaign didn’t have any “initial momentum,” Brock said.

“We started with a fan base of basically zero, so it doesn’t look like the campaign will be successful,” he said in an email, adding that the company might return for a second round of trying to raise funds for the game.

Hit the Sticks previously developed online multiplayer war game Just Tactics. In April, the company offered $100 to the first 10,000 players of the game.
